Premier Ballroom Dance studio Canton Ohio

Did you know?

Did you know that Canton is home to some of the best ballroom dance training in the country?!? The R&J Ballroom staff holds over 50 national and world titles and over 80 years of experience teaching. R&J Ballroom trains every level of student. Whether it is your first time on the dance floor, or you want to take your dancing to the next level, if you are interested in learning ballroom dancing in Canton or anywhere close, training at R&J Ballroom is a no-brainer!

What is ballroom dancing?

Ballroom dancing includes many forms of partner dancing. There are more traditional dances such as the waltz, then there are more rhythmical dances such as the cha-cha. You will even see "club dances" like the bachata or salsa being taught in ballroom dance studios and at ballroom competitions. When it comes to dancing with a partner, ballroom dance instruction is the way to improve your skills.

Why get proper training? isn't dance just for fun?

Yes, dance can be fun. Just like everything in life, the goal is to have a good time. When you are learning to do something new, it can be fun AND challenging. Sometimes, making it through the challenges is the most rewarding part of the experience. The more you are unable to surpass each of the challenges that arise, the less fun you will have. That is why getting proper instruction is important! We suggest you try out each dance studio to get the experience yourself.

When we are good at something, we enjoy doing it a LOT more :)

What should i do to prepare for ballroom dance lesson?

There is not much you have to worry about here. Whether you have a little, a lot, or no experience at all, you are in good hands at R&J Ballroom.

We do recommend using proper footwear when learning. You may not need a pair of ballroom shoes right away, however, wearing shoes with too much grip can make things very difficult. Find a pair of shoes that allow you to twist and turn so you can protect your joints!

Where will I use my dancing?

EVERYWHERE! The obvious place to dance is at R&J Ballroom weekly dance parties. It is not hard to find other locations or individuals hosting dance parties near you. Northeast Ohio has many dance studios and parties every week!

Even though we don't see many people ballroom dancing in public, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't! People love to watch others dance. It brings joy to everyone AND you help spread the word that dance is FUN!

With great power comes great responsibility ;)
